Smart glasses with AI are a new tool for your visually impaired clients. This page gives you what you need for a client conversation, a quick in-store demo, and referrals.

What the AI can do:

Fitting Guide

The fit is similar to standard Ray-Ban frames, with a few things to keep in mind.

Conversation Starters

These questions help you assess whether smart glasses are a good fit for a client.

  1. What is your level of vision? (light perception, tunnel vision, blurry, etc.)
  2. Do you use a smartphone? iPhone or Android?
  3. Are you comfortable with voice commands?
  4. What daily tasks do you find hardest? (reading mail, shopping, navigating)
  5. Do you have a family member or helper who could assist with setup?
  6. Do you wear a cochlear implant processor?

5-Minute In-Store Demo Script

A quick demo that lets the client experience the glasses firsthand. Works best with a charged pair on hand.

  1. Introduction (30 sec) — "These are Ray-Ban Meta. They look like normal sunglasses but have a camera and AI built in."
  2. Put on (30 sec) — Help the client put them on. Adjust nose pads. Check comfort.
  3. Scene description (1 min) — Say: "Hey Meta, what do you see?" Have them try it in the store. React to the response together.
  4. Read text (1 min) — Hold a product or business card in front of them. Say: "Hey Meta, read this."
  5. Color identification (30 sec) — Say: "Hey Meta, what color is this?" with a product or their clothing.
  6. Explain next steps (1 min) — They need a phone, a Meta account, and someone to help with setup. Point them to this website. Training takes 4 weeks at their own pace.

Smart glasses are not yet recognized as a hulpmiddel by most Dutch health insurers. The landscape is changing, though.
